A. Vision, babies can see from birth, but they only begin to recognize their parents at a distance of about 20cm from the age of about 2 weeks onwards. They give social smile in response to gesture around 4 to 6 weeks. The babies who can't see tend to smile late. A baby's vision is tested by assessing hus ability to follow a moving object with the eyes.
