my baby is 2month old. she doesn't smile back but smiles often by herself. can it be called social smile.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. it is usually taken as normal for this age, social smile will come only after 3 months of age if it is not associated with any other problems repetitively,you should not worry it does not require any kind of treatment or medicine . if you have any more doubts,keep observing, wait and watch and u can also get clinical examination done once by the doctor available and get further guidance regarding this.

No It is not social smiling a social smile for a child is going to start after three months of an age when the child is going to see you right now the child does not have the vision to see and understand that only happens after the age of three months for you just have to wait for a little while
