A. sunlight is important for the generation of vitamin d in the body. to generate proper vitamin d the child should go in sunlight between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. for at least 10 minutes daily . if the child is not able to follow this then vitamin d supplements needs to be given. after 1 year of age there is two options of giving vitamin d to the child. it would be advisable to discuss this with your personal pediatrician. when you are giving drops of 800 units you have to give 0.8 ml per day or you can shift to vitamin d shots of 60000 unit which can be gsiven 5 ml single dose and has to be repeated every three months for the child. s

A. Maybe your child is having a major deficiency which is why your doctor may have advised you to use it for longer duration so please follow what your doctor has to advise because doctor advised you to give these supplements due to deficiency that can be seen and it must be on the higher side which is why they may have advised you like this
