HomeQuestions & AnswersMy baby is 2 months old. For the last 3 weeks, he starts crying his lungs out while breast feeding. This lasts for a period of 8-10 hours in a day and the time is also not static. For first 2 weeks, it was during the night time. (he will not cry during day feeds, will sleep off after sucking for 5-10 mins). This week it is during the day time.( he will not cry during night feeds, will sleep off after sucking for 5-10 mins) Sometimes he sucks for 10 mins and cries, sometimes starts crying within 2 mins of sucking. Switching sides also does not help. Because of this, am compelled to hand express milk and feed him during that part of the day (which is as long as 8-10 hours). Please help me understand what's happening. Am very worried and feeling dejected.

A. Firstly The first and foremost reason for a child to cry out like this is stomach pain so you see if your child is having severe colic or gas issue second day sometimes the child is not able to latch on properly because the flow of the breast is very little very small so which is why kids really get frustrated taking that and thirdly maybe your breast feed is not sufficient for the child which is why this is happening it could be either of the three reasons but since you are monitoring the child well enough you can figure it out yourself on
