Q.

My baby is 2 months 10 days old. when she becomes 2 months old, passing stool every 2nd day. and now, she has not passed stool since 3 days. earlier she was passing 8-10 times in a day. please suggest.

A. It is normal only. If your baby is ONLY BREASTFED, it is normal to poop even once in a week. This is because, all your breastmilk will be used by the baby to gain nutrition and moreover there is no unwanted component in breastmilk to be excreted everyday. Just eat healthy food, protein rich and fibre rich.. drink plenty of water. 3 to 4litres per day.

A. constipation in small babies is quite commonly seen and is more with babies who are fed with formula milk. Usually constipation of few days is considered as normal in babies below 6 months of age,you can give bonnisan drops 3 times a day to your child will and give frequent feeding, usually medicines or suppositories are to be avoided in such a case .if baby is having gastric pain you can give collicaid drops.give psmroper tummy time and burping to avoid gastric trouble. In case of severe constipation of above one week you can give suppository but only under medical advice.
