Q.

My baby is 19 weeks old. Today we did BERA test and the conclusion was that he has moderately severe hearing loss on his right ear. We were told to wait for 6 weeks until he completes 6 month to do the re-test. I would like to know if we really need to wait or intervene as early as possible. Please help as I am really worried being a mother.

A. Hello dear parent! Please follow your doctors advice as taking the present situation consideration your doctor knows the best. If required take a second opinion from another paediatrician good luck and take care. Good luck and take care.

Q. Hello sir, I have a kid of 10months, initially he had jaundice and when we did hearing test OAE failed, doctor suggested for BERA at that time the result is 95%and 85% in both ears. Docor said for some kids nerves will not get opened and repaeat the test after 5months when we done the same the BERA was completely normal. but my problem is he is not responding when I am calling by name or any nock name. he responds to all sounds. what may be the problem, is there any chance to loss the hearing again. please suggest.
