my baby is 19 months old. till date he only utters a word aai only. when he can talk completely

ExpertNeha KhannaEarly Childhood Educator6 years agoA. Hello. Does your child have adequate eye contact and response to name skills ? If yes but the words or babbling is less ? What you can do at home:- @ Read to the child regularly @ Talk in 1-2 word phrases like come here, let's go, up, eating, catch ball etc @ Always look at the child while talking @ Keep one language @ Describe whatever the child is doing in short phrases The timeline is as below for speech development. • 6 and 9 months - babies babble in syllables, start imitating tones and speech sounds. • 12 months, a baby's first words usually appear. • 18 months to 2 years children - around 50 words and putting two words together. • 2-3 years, sentences extend to 4 and 5 words • 3 up - talk like an adult. If not according to above, PLEASE VISIT A SPEECH PATHOLOGIST IMMEDIATELY TO SEE and DISCUSS THE SITUATION.

Neha SharmaMom of a 11 yr 10 m old boy6 years agoA. It's okay don't worry,your baby will start taking after he turns two years old,and before that he will say such kind of words,and you should try to talk to him as much as you can,only then baby will start talking soon.
