Q.
My baby is 17 months old and from past 8 days he is having loose motions(7-8 times a day) also his bottom part has turned red. I cunsulted doctor and he gave medicine but no relief. Now he has suggested some test and also a stool test. Is it necessary.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children1 Year agoA. loose motion may be because of either some infection therecg could be loss of water and electrolytes so a proper hydration is required give ORS and also give probiotic like enterogermina two times 3 day

Author of questionMom of 2 children1 Year agoA. I am not using diapers. But I am bit worry about the tests he has written Hb, Dlc etc. The child is so small for the test

I would have suggested you same to get a stool test done for your child because of the medicines are already gone and the child is not getting ready to test is going to give you clarity about the problem and further medicines can be suggested accordingly as of now for the red bottom I would recommend you to keep applying Boroline anti septic cream and avoid using diapers please
