my baby is 16 months old i need to stop breastfeeding for him but I don't know wt to do bcoz nxt month I need to god Job so please give any idea and suggestions

ExpertDr. Minal AcharyaNutritionist2 years agoA. dear mum, breastfeeding should be continued till 2 years because it increases your baby's immunity and provides better nutrition. breastfeeding should be stopped gradually for it to be less stressful for you as well as baby. Ensure that the child eats enough; increase number of meals. Increase interval between breastfeeds. Drop one feed every day per week. Taper over 2-3 months. Stop morning breastfeeds first, then afternoon feeds after 2 - 3 weeks. Avoid situations that remind the baby of the breast: other family members and father can help with feeding and putting child to sleep. The nighttime feeding is usually the last to go.

Start giving any other complimentary milk like buffalo is your full cream packet milk to the child with the help of a glass or a straw mug or sipper whatever is more suitable for you and this way you’ll be able to quit breastfeeding over the period and that’s the right way to follow
