Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children1 Year agoA. Thumb sucking in infants. is a very normal phenomenon and its called mouthing reflex and nothing to be worried about it just maintain proper hygiene and with time this thing will go . In the toddlers thumb sucking habit is also seen many a times which could be phycological cause and feeling of insecurity or some stress . Just try to make the child comfortable and divert in some activities also spend good time with the child . In extreme case withdrawal can be tried with some solution available which are bitter like femite lotion . It needs to be applied locally .

Teething could be happening with your child and probably which is why this could be happening so I would recommend you that check the gums of your child and if you see swelling is there then you can introduce her teether to your child and that is going to be quite beneficial for you and on the thumb of your child you can also apply neem oil or juice to get rid of this habit
