Q.
My baby is 1 year old he usually crawls due to which he sucks his finger and its impossible to get clean his hand and since one month he is suffering from recurrent diarrhea followed by constipation .I already met paeditrician ,everytime diarrhea got cured after medication .What should i do to stop the suffering?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Thumb sucking in infants is a very normal phenomenon and its called mouthing reflex and nothing to be worried about it just maintain proper hygiene and with time this thing will go .
In the toddlers thumb sucking habit is also seen many a times which could be phycological cause and feeling of insecurity or some stress . Just try to make the child comfortable and divert in some activities also spend good time with the child .
In extreme case withdrhuawal can be tried with some solution available which are bitter like femite lotion . It cneeds to be applied locally .
