Q.
My baby is 1 year 10 months old. Her teeth have come. But have not started brushing properly. Is it ok to start brushing her teeth using toddler tooth paste because she won't be able spit out properly.?

SoniaMom of a 10 yr 8 m old girl6 years agoA. hello dear, yes it is OK to to brush your baby's teeth at this age and brushing twice a day and use the fluoride free toothpaste. they come bit costly but it is good and use a very tiny bit amount lesser than a pea size . it's ok if they don't spit it out and swallow . it just initial stage it's not going to harm them if they swallow just remind them . how to split and show them physically how to do it that you have them how to actually it verbal communication is most important and demonstration for them to learn better.

Janani ViswanathanMom of 2 children6 years agoA. Generally once the baby gets his first tooth u can use finger toothbrush. U can Wash the brush in water and wear it on your finger and gently brush the baby teeth. This is called wet brushing. Generally babies won't need a toothpaste until they are two years old or atleast 18 months old as they should know how to goggle before using a toothpaste. After which you can use fluoride free toothpaste in peanut size quantity to brush the kids teeth. Make sure they don't swallow more toothpaste that is why a peanut size quantity is recommended. While choosing the toothbrush make sure the bristles are soft and the tooth brush handle is angular for easy accessibility and reaching till the ends.
