POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy6 months agoA. A fever that occurs only at night for the past two days, along with cold symptoms, could be due to:
Viral Infection (Common Cold or Flu) – Many viral infections cause fever that spikes at night. Bacterial Infection (Throat or Ear Infection, UTI, etc.) – Some bacterial infections can cause intermittent fever, especially at night. Respiratory Infection – If she has a runny nose, cough, or congestion, it could be a mild respiratory infection. Environmental Factors – Cooler nighttime temperatures might make her feel more unwell, triggering chills and fever. What You Can Do: Continue paracetamol every 6 hours if the fever is above 100.4°F (38°C). Keep her hydrated with warm fluids, soups, and water. Use a humidifier or steam inhalation if she has congestion. Ensure she is dressed comfortably—not too warm or too cold. Monitor for other symptoms like sore throat, cough, or ear pain. When to See a Doctor: If fever lasts more than 3 days. If she has high fever above 102°F. If she has breathing difficulty, refuses to eat/drink, or looks very weak.
