my baby having fever from last 2 days, which medicine should I give her.?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home rtemedy to decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine goutput monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 7 m old boy3 years agoA. Fever. If your baby is younger than 3 months old, contact your health care provider for any fever. If your baby is 3 to 6 months old and has a temperature up to 102 F (38.9 C) and seems sick or has a temperature higher than 102 F (38.9 C), contact your health care provider.
