POOJA KOTHARIExpecting Mom due in 1 month2 months agoA. If your 1 year 10-month-old boy is having loose motions since yesterday, here’s what you can do:
Keep him hydrated with ORS (oral rehydration solution) frequently to prevent dehydration. Give zinc syrup (as per pediatrician's dosage) — it's often recommended for 10–14 days during diarrhea. You can offer light, easily digestible foods like rice, curd, banana, khichdi, or moong dal. Avoid sweets, milk, and oily or spicy food temporarily. You may continue formula/breast milk if he is still on it.
Medicines like Zinc (e.g., Zinconia) and probiotics like Enterogermina are commonly used, but please consult a pediatrician before giving any medicine to ensure correct dosage and safety based on your child’s condition.
If motion continues beyond 2–3 days, has blood/mucus, or your baby becomes drowsy or dehydrated (dry mouth, less urine), seek medical attention immediately.
