Q.

my baby hasn't started speaking...he speaks only two words mumma papa. He is 2.3 years old..i want to know when he will be able to speak

A. proper language / speech development will start between 18 months of age to 3 years of age. there is no need to worry before that just concentrate on the diet and regular interaction with the child. also speech and language develops properly with more people available to interact with the child avoid usage of tv mobile and laptop because they are the most common reasons for delayed speech and language development. the most important thing is that before speech, understanding of the commands givenf by the parents should be present. by 18 months if the child is not following basic commands then only you have to meet the doctor for speech and development assessment. requirement off speech therapy will also be discussed by your doctor.

A. Ask the child to help you. For example, ask him to put his cup on the table or to bring you his shoe. Teach a child simple songs and nursery rhymes. Read to the child. ... Encourage the child to talk to friends and family. He can tell them about a new toy. Engage the child in pretend play.
