A. Small red rashes on a one-year-old's body can be caused by various factors, including: 1. Heat Rash (Prickly Heat): Common in babies due to heat or sweating, especially in warmer weather. 2. Diaper Rash: Caused by moisture, irritation, or sensitivity to diapers. 3. Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis): Red, itchy patches, commonly on the face, elbows, or knees. 4. Allergic Reaction: Could be due to food, laundry detergents, or skincare products. 5. Viral Infections: Viral illnesses like roseola or hand, foot, and mouth disease can cause red rashes. 6. Contact Dermatitis: Skin irritation from contact with a specific substance (soaps, lotions, etc.). What you can do: Keep the skin clean and dry. Use gentle, hypoallergenic products (baby soaps, detergents, etc.). Apply fragrance-free moisturizers if the skin is dry or irritated. Avoid overheating; dress the baby in breathable, cotton clothing. If the rash persists or is accompanied by other symptoms like fever, it's best to consult a pediatrician for proper diagnosis and treatment.
