What You Can Do at Home:
✔ Monitor Temperature – If fever is below 100.4°F (38°C), let the body fight the infection naturally. If it goes above 101°F (38.3°C), continue giving paracetamol every 6 hours as per the dosage recommended by the doctor.
✔ Keep Baby Hydrated – Offer breast milk or formula frequently if under 6 months. If above 6 months, give warm fluids like lukewarm water, dal ka pani, or soups.
✔ Use a Lukewarm Sponge Bath – Wipe the baby's body with a lukewarm wet cloth to bring the fever down naturally.
✔ For Cough – If the baby is above 6 months, give warm water sips. If above 1 year, a little honey can help soothe the throat.
When to See a Doctor:
➡ If fever crosses 102°F (38.9°C) and does not reduce with medicine.
➡ If the baby has breathing difficulty, fast breathing, or wheezing sounds.
➡ If the baby refuses to eat, becomes very weak, or is not active.
➡ If fever lasts more than 3 days.
Since you and your mom also had an infection, there is a chance it's viral. Just keep monitoring, giving fluids, and rest. If symptoms worsen, consult a doctor. Hope your baby recovers soon!
