POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 8 m old boy1 Year agoA. It’s common for babies to experience mild fever after vaccinations, typically as part of their immune response. The fever can vary in intensity and duration, usually resolving within a few days. Since your baby is experiencing fever for three days, with some fluctuations, it might be related to the vaccine or a concurrent viral infection. Here are a few things to consider: 1. Post-Vaccination Fever: It's normal for a fever to occur after vaccinations, especially with certain vaccines. This can last up to 3-5 days. 2. Monitoring: Continue to monitor her temperature. If the fever remains high (over 102°F) or persists beyond 3-5 days, it’s best to consult your pediatrician. 3. Signs of Concern: Watch for additional symptoms such as persistent crying, difficulty breathing, rash, or unusual lethargy. If any of these occur, seek medical attention. 4. Hydration and Comfort: Keep her hydrated and comfortable, and continue administering paracetamol as prescribed. Given that she had a fever at night but none during the day, it may indicate that her body is still responding to the vaccine or there could be another mild illness. If her fever persists or if you have concerns, consult her pediatrician for personalized advice.
