#ParentsDoctorsTalk my baby girl is 5.5months old .she's having cold since 10 to 15days.used maxtra and then adricold for 3 days...still cold is not subsided.shes not able to take my feed. Need suggestions to easen her cold please

A. Mostly cough cold episodes are viral in origin. They may subside by 3 -9 days No need of any medication if mild. If cough and cold then need steam inhalation, nasal decongestant drops (nasivion baby nasal drops 1drop in each nostril 3-4 times a day for 3 days). And cough syrp or drops as per babys Cough condition (wet or dry). Keep ur baby well hydrated in cough cold episodes Proper hand washing, keeping away ur baby from other infected persons, exclusive breast feeding ur baby till 6months of the age, will help for fast recovery. If decreased urine output, refusal to feed, decreased activity, breathing difficulty Then need to consult with nearest pediatrician once.

A. Keep baby hydrated. Feed every few hours that is the best way to cure soon. Also add tulsi leaves to warm coconut oil and apply to baby's chest sole and back. Keep baby warm. Home remedies are good but it would take a longer time to recover. Babies cant bear for a long time. It's better to check with doctor once and you can treat with medicines and home remedies parallel.
