POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy6 months agoA. If your baby is coughing excessively even after taking Levolin syrup, it could be due to a viral infection, allergies, or wheezing. Here’s what you can do:
Immediate Care: Continue Levolin as prescribed by the doctor if the baby has wheezing or breathing difficulty. Give steam inhalation (sit in a steamy bathroom) to loosen mucus. Saline nasal drops can help clear nasal congestion. Keep the baby hydrated with warm fluids (lukewarm water, soup, or warm milk if over 1 year). Use a humidifier in the baby’s room to prevent dryness. When to See a Doctor? If coughing is continuous, worsens at night, or causes vomiting. If the baby has high fever, difficulty breathing, wheezing, or chest retractions. If the cough lasts more than a week without improvement.
If the cough is severe, the doctor may prescribe additional medications like antihistamines, steroids, or nebulization depending on the cause. Let me know if you notice any other symptoms.
