Q.

my baby boy of 17 months(corrected age 16 m) is not saying any words yet. he babbles all day. name response, eye contact, gestures like shaking head no,yes etc are good. he started pointing and following point at 14 months but these days he doesn't follow my point properly; when I point something to him he looks at my hand instead or makes ponting gesture himself with his finger(he copies my gesture of pointing instead of looking at what am pointing at).only rarely he follows my point correctly after many attempts. #asktheexpert

A. Wait till 2yers DEVELOPMENT by the age of 2 years the child should be able to speak few words with meaning in the sentence and should be able to understand all the commands and orders given by the parents and if you feel that they are not present in your child it is important to meet your pediatrician to assess the growth milestones of the child and whether there is any need of therapy or not
