Q.

My baby boy is 8 month old.. Suddenly from few days, he is struggling to sleep especially at day time.. Whenever we make him sleep, he started crying and does not want to sleep at all.. He sleeps only 1-1.5 hrs at day time.. Earlier he was sleeping for approx 3-3.5 hrs Is this ok? Actually because of durga pooja his day routine is changed a bit for 2-3 days.. Please suggest what should I do?

A. sleeping pattern in small children changes from time to time but will improve with increasing age of the child you have to just see for any environmental factor which is affecting the sleep like temperature variations as well as the child might be having some digestion problem or breathing difficulty due to nasal blockage has to be looked into. if the growth of the child is proper do not worry much about the sleepingd pattern of the child as it always improve with time you can increase the physical activity during the daytime as well as avoid more sleeping time during the day time and this will help in improving the night time sleeping time .

A. hi as child's daily routine got changed , it is normal to get this behavior. but from now , be careful and stay consistent with your child routine as it affects a lot to a child . don't change it suddenly. make changes gradually . from now ,try to set consistent routine . to make your child sleep ,use dim lights avoid distractions while sleeping keep the environment calm and dark while sleeping.
