Q.
My baby boy is 2 years and 2 months and is having mild cough. which cough syrup should i give? i had given ascoril previously but it did not work

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 6 m old boy3 years agoA. kindly give syrup allegra 3.5 ml twice daily and syrup asthalin 5 ml twice daily. give nasal saline drops in the nasal cavity every 3 hourly and give indiredct steam inhalation. if the child doesn't improve in next two and a half days then kindly meet your doctor and give warm water to drink. give home remedies like tulsi ginger honey and turmeric with milk. x

Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.kii if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
