Q.
my baby 4.5 year old and she frequently get cold and cough... after that fever.... after her school started is has been there.. is it any serious or normal...?? every time doctor tellls us it's viral after check up... what to do.. I get panic whenever she falls sick

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children1 Year agoA. Cough along with Cold and fever most of the time is a viral illness or allergic and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration needs to be maintained. you can give steam inhalation which may be useful .
cough needs to be treated with medicine like anti allergic expectorant bronchodilators antitussives or cough suppresents medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough and need.
In severe cough nebulisation can be given where medicine godirectly gets dilivered in the resfpiratory tract.
Also if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose is 15 mg/ kg body weight and can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
Home remedies like Tulsi & ginger mix in honey can be tried for soothing.

It’s basically a common with kids when they start going to the school and all but that’s also due to poor immunity and you need to work upon having a proper immunity for the child and right now the weather is quite fluctuating so try and maintain a proper food habits and temperature for the child
