Q.
my 9months old baby got fever since four days first two days I used paracetmol syrup even through fever didn't control doctor suggests antibiotics since yesterday I was using antibiotics..... but my baby head is too hot but the body temperature is 98.4 f. why my baby head is hot is there any concern about it please help me

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. when you take the temperature in the armpit of the child with the help of a digital thermometer and if it is 100 f (37.7 c) or more then you consider it as fever or when you take the temperature in the oral cavity .
of the child and if it is 99 degree fahrenheit then you consider it as fever and then paracetamol is given.
along with paracetamol continue body sponge and keep the child in light clothes.
paracetamol can be repeated maximum four times per day
it is very normal for small children to have slightly warm/hot head palms and soles but if the growth of the child is proper no need to worry about the warm head palm and soles.

you have to consider it as fever only if the temperature in the armpit is 100°f / 37.7°c or more.
the warm headx palms and soles are due to hyperdynamic circulation in these areas (that is necessary for development) which is normal.
