Q.

My 9 month old fell off the bed just within a second of me turning another side. She fell off with her head first hit the marble floor then rest body. she cried but calmed down n slept well. I have not seen any change in behaviour or discomfort. but I am still so worried if there is any internal injury. should i get her to a paediatrician?

A. Any Fall injury specially head injury needs to be assessed properly . In any such case certain symptoms needs to be checked like loss of consciousness reccurrent vomiting or any abnormal moment or convulsions . Such case needs immediate medical intervention as there could be some internal injury . Otherwise application of ice locally to reduce the swelling and pain can be done along with some analgesic like paracetamol. Recurrent fall injury for a child should be avoided as it can lead to some chronic manifestations occasionally . Also teeth injury should bhuue rule out in any such casef which is commonly associated and can be easily missed out most of the time .
