Q.
My 9 month old baby poops almost 5-6 times a day.Earlier pooping frequency was 2-3 times after starting solid food.stool appears normal.no.of wet diapers are normal.Suddenly pooping has increased since last week.what could be the reason?Is my baby getting enough nutrition?currently we give 3-4 solid meals and rest is breast milk.Please suggest

ExpertDr. Pandurang sawantPaediatrician7 years agoA. If baby is active and playful, no fever, passing adequate urine ie. minimum 6-8 times per day, then no need to worry for motion ( once in 7 days or 15 times per day- both conditions normal). Don't give so much importance to motion unless blood in motion or bad smelling motion or white colour motion. Keep ur baby well hydrated Continue to give breast feed as well, till 1.5 yrs of age. Continue to give water and all other food items as before(no food restrictions). Wait for some more days Everything will be alright. If blood in motion/persistant foul smelling motion or less urine output then consult with ur nearest pediatrician, He will giude you in a better way.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaFather of a 12 yr 9 m old boy7 years agoA. you do not worry about the frequency of motion if the motion contains mucus or blood or it is foul smelling then there could be some stomach infection for which you need to consult with your pediatrician otherwise do not worry and feed your child properly

Nihita mittalMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy7 years agoA. Hello and good evening you may give the baby cold lemon tea with a pinch of salt and roasted makhanas and also give the baby banana it will help to hold the stomach a little and avoid so many motions
