Q.

My 8 month old baby is having fever since morning. Temp. got down after giving calpol (patacetamol) but increased in day time. Once again calpol was given to him but after 2 & 2and half hour temp is not getting down. Not a single tooth erupted yet and he also don't take anything inside his mouth. His temp measured in between 99.6 to 101 since morning. We also don't take him out side because of hot weather and he feels hot very much. What can be cause?

A. keep temperature checking 6 hourly.. And give paracetamol drops / syp in proper dose. Fevers higher than 104° F. should be attended to immediately. can do tepid sponging Dress your child lightly. Use a sheet instead of a blanket to cover her in bed. see that room is adequately ventilated Breastfeed more often, give more liquid food.

A. Hello dear parent! Without proper physical examination it is not possible to conclude anything. Consult your child’s doctor for evaluation and advice. Maintain a good personal hygiene and follow your doctor’s advice diligently. Good luck and take care.
