POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 9 yr 2 m old boy1 Year agoA. It is normal for a 7-month-old baby to make noise through their nose, especially after feeding. There are a few possible reasons for this:
Nasal Congestion: Babies are more prone to nasal congestion due to their narrow nasal passages. After feeding, when your baby lies down, the mucus may shift and cause them to make sniffling or nasal sounds.
Post-Feed Positioning: Lying down after feeding can cause the milk to move around in the stomach and sometimes lead to mucus buildup, which may result in snorting or nose noises. If your baby has some congestion, it can be more noticeable after a feed.
Immature Respiratory System: Babies are still developing their respiratory systems. Sounds like gurgling or slight congestion can be common as their body adjusts to breathing outside the womb.
What to Do: Clear the Nose: Use saline drops or a nasal aspirator to help clear your baby’s nose if they seem congested. Feeding Position: Try to keep your baby in an upright position during and after feeding to reduce the chances of congestion. Humidifier: If the air is dry, consider using a humidifier in the room to help with nasal passages.
If the noise is persistent, or if your baby has other symptoms like difficulty breathing, fever, or feeding problems, it's a good idea to consult your pediatrician for a proper evaluation.
