Q.

My 6month old daughter has dysentery since a week. And the quantity of my milk is very less. can I give her formula milk (lactogen2) ?

A. Also, my daughter passes yellowish foamy liquid around 6 times a day, since a week. On doctor's guidance we gave her 3days of antibiotic injections and zinc syrup. But this hasn't improved the condition.

A. Thank you for the quick response. But there is no adequate breastmilk. What can be given as alternative? And I give my 6month daughter Nestle Nestum Rice 3 times a day. So how many times your mentioned solid foods can be given, and how much quantity?

A. no cannot give kindly give ors(oral rehydration solution) for every episode of loose motion and give simple diet made from rice dal and khichdi curd buttermilk apple banana and the natural probiotics from the curd will help in decreasing the loose motion and if it is not improving in one or two days then kindly meet your doctor. also you cannot give outside milk and cerelac also but you can continue to give breastfeeding if going on for next few days. avoid giving sweet sugary food as well as maida and biscuits, chocolate, icecream, packet foods cerelac. other food which can be given are poha daliya upma mamra idli
