Q.

my 6 year old boy is having heavy cough from 9 days. Doctor gave expectorant but no effect yet.. Wt to do ?

A. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very usefful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

A. Hello You can ask your doctor to nebulise your child because nebulisation is a very good thing to go for it really helps quite a lot in melting the cuff out of the system you don’t the congestion out of chest and throat so I would definitely advise you to go ahead with nebulising the child
