Q.

My 6 weeks old baby shivers legs and hands while in deep sleep and in REM sleep condition. this lasts not more than 2-3 seconds. This happens not every day.

A. Hello I don't see any problem in shivering in sleep for 2-3 seconds. It's absolutely fine. REM is also very common in babies. At times baby can get up frightened from sleep. It is said in marathi that 'jivati plays with baby in sleep'. So the baby laughs, or cries in sleep. To maka baby comfortable put your old soft chunni around the baby.

A. you do not worry babies Shiva normally also because they have a weak thermoregulatory mechanism and sometime because of calcium deficiency also this happens so you can consult with your doctor once
