Q.

My 6 week old baby feeds slowly with a small quantity of milk at a time and this feeding pattern goes on throughout day. Is this expected feeding pattern for a month old baby and what should be approx total milk intake in a day?

A. In general, here's what you can expect: 2-month-olds will usually drink 3 to 6 ounces of formula every three to four hours. That adds up to 18 to 32 ounces of formula in around eight feedings total in a 24-hour period.
