my 5 month old is having cough shall I give cough medicine is it good

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.
if fever ids there paracetamgol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

Shikha kumarMom of 2 children3 years agoA. dear mother no doubt when we you your baby is not feeling well you have to give certain medicines but it should be only under doctor's recommendation or if you have already consulted the doctor prior along with that start giving steam staining is very effective remedy that will help remove the congestion and it is a natural remedy always keep some medicines HF cough cold fever at your hand after discussing it with your doctor so that it can be given in case of emergency
