abinayavMom of a 10 yr 3 m old boy1 Year agoA. This sleep thing is totally normal for a 5-month-old. My little one went through the same thing. It's like their bodies are suddenly going through a growth spurt or something. I know it's tough, but it's just a phase.
I remember feeling so tired and stressed. But you know what helped me? The my little moppet website. Yes I got some good tips to make my baby sleep. It's really sounds good.
These are some of the tips that is can cause and comfort your baby.
1.During the 5-month sleep regression, a little extra comfort can go a long way to help sleep problems.
A lightly weighted swaddle (if baby isn’t rolling over yet) or sleeping bag will help keep her calm and cozy while falling asleep.
2. This growth spurt makes the baby extra hungry. When feeding your baby it is not uncommon for babies to experience an increase in appetite during the time. So feed on demand.
3. Any extra noise is going to distract baby from sleep so be vigilant and remove all the distracting noises.
Always follow your schedule of routine so that the baby could come back to his routine of sleeping once this period is over.
Hope this helps you.
Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. it is important to rule out any type of discomfort the child is experiencing.
sometimes it can be due to colic pain / digestive issues as well as due to some irritability or some discomfort in the mattress on which the child is sleeping which has to be taken care of.
for small children you can use a swing as well as do swaddle as well as take a walk or you can take thed child in the car which will help in improving the sleep of the child
you have to also rule out hunger which might be causing sleep discomfort.
also rule out teething pain which might be causing sleep disturbance. d
