Q.

My 5 and half month old daughter has started waking up every 45 minutes to 1 hour at night. She then takes few sips of bm & goes back to sleep. Her day time naps are also of around 45 mins. She is fussy and crying throughout the day and drinks bm every hour for just 5-7 mins. Is it that she's not getting enough feed? Can I start top feed and other liquids?

A. Yes you can, Giving your baby formula in addition to breastfeeding is called supplementing. It's completely OK and perfectly safe to do, and many families choose this type of combination feeding method, whether out of necessity (e.g., low breast milk supply), convenience, or simply a personal choice.
