Q.
my 4month old baby got cold and cough.My doctor suggested phenylephrine hydrochloride ans chlorpheniamine maleate drops and ambroxol hydrochloride drops 1momth ego.she was cured then.. should I repeat the medication? can I give moxclav antibiotic which was also prescribed by my doctor? as my doctor is out of town..I am asking help from you. thanks in advance

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination.g
steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex colfd/ hatric 3/ sinarest.
As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .

Use saline nasal drops
Give indirect steam inhalation
Take healthy protein rich nutritious food including fenugreek ajwain butter to increase your breast milk avoid stress stay happy it also help to increase your breast milk you can take lactogen tablet to increase bm
Burp well after evey feeding by holding your baby in straight right position and wait for burping atleat ten minutes
