Q.

My 4 year daughter was milk intolerant so far I was giving her Amul lactose free milk but due to lockdown it was unavailable so I tried giving her Cow’s milk , she seems to me still isn’t suiting her. Can I give her Isomil (the one given in early days ) to substitute regular milk

A. Also check with your pediatrician and see whether she has lactose intolerance or cow milk protein allergy. If milk protein allergy is detected then entire milk and milk products need to be avoided depending on the degree of allergy.

A. Dear ma’am, why do you think milk is compulsory to drink everyday? Recent research suggests that too much animal milk does more harm than good. Lactose intolerance will settle so you may try curd or buttermilk instead of plain milk. You can also give multigrain porridge with 1 date and 1 dried figs everyday. This will be filling, nutritious and also takes care of the calcium needs. Also include dark green leafy vegetables plus adequate sunlight exposure. Muscles become weak not only because of lack of calcium but also because of lack of physical activity
