A. A nasal blockage (stuffy nose) in a 34-day-old baby can be quite uncomfortable, but it's relatively common in newborns. Here are a few steps you can try to help relieve your baby's nasal congestion: Saline Drops: Use saline nasal drops specifically designed for babies. These can help loosen the mucus in your baby's nose. After applying the drops, you can gently use a bulb syringe to suction out the mucus. Humidifier: Use a cool-mist humidifier in your baby's room to keep the air moist. This can help ease the congestion and prevent your baby's nose from drying out. Elevate Head While Sleeping: Try slightly elevating your baby’s head while they sleep (by raising the head of the crib mattress slightly). This can help mucus drain out more easily. Breastfeeding: Continue breastfeeding, as breast milk can help support your baby’s immune system and provide comfort. Keep Baby Hydrated: Make sure your baby is feeding well, as hydration can help thin mucus and make it easier to clear. Gentle Suctioning: Use a baby nasal aspirator or bulb syringe to gently remove mucus from your baby’s nose. Make sure to do this carefully and not too forcefully. If your baby continues to have difficulty breathing, or if you notice any other concerning symptoms (like fever or a persistent cough), it’s best to consult your pediatrician for further guidance.
