My 3 years and 8 months daughter is complaining of stomachache since few days. She vomited once as well was having loose motion once in a day. After that she was ok for few days. yesterday she started complaining of stomachache again and was having watery loose motion once, today she vomited by complaining stomach ache. please advise what needs to be done?

A. the child is suffering from acute gastroenteritis (either viral or bacterial) examination is needed by the doctor for need of antibiotics. can give probiotics like econorm / sporolac / enterogermina one to two times as per dr's recommendations. give easily digestible food. ors to be given if loose motion is in more quantity to prevent dehydration and ensure adequate glucose level in the body. after vomiting wait for one hour then give vomiting medicine (syp ondem/emeset) and then again wait for one hour and then give only easily digestible food. do not give anytzhing to eat in this 2hr waiting period. if vomiting occurs again then meet your doctor. avoid giving milk and heavy diet. vomit usualzly occurs due to gastritis 0
