Q.

my 3 year old girl had pneumonia and was admitted to hospital for 5 days. now she is at home continuing antibiotics. She is having black tarry stool since the fever started, now also the color hasn't changed after discharge. is it normal?

A. i am not giving any iron suppliments, only the prescribed medicines. but she is very active and recovering. i think i shall mention this in the next review at hospital

A. Hi mom Are you giving any iron supplements to your baby. As black stool can be due to iron supplements or any food given which is rich in iron. But it is normal. if ur baby is active and comfortable otherwise then no need to worry.
