A. It’s completely understandable that you’re feeling exhausted. Caring for a 3-month-old is challenging, especially when their sleep is short and feeding is frequent. 💤 Sleep Pattern at 3 Months: What's Normal? At this age, babies usually: Sleep 14–17 hours a day (including naps) Take 3–5 naps Sleep for stretches of 2–4 hours at night Your baby sleeping only 6 hours in 24 hours is on the lower side, and that could make both of you overtired. 🍼 Feeding every 30 minutes — Why? Frequent feeding can be due to: Growth spurts (common at 3 months) Comfort feeding (using feeding to soothe) Low milk supply or ineffective feeding (baby not getting full) ✅ What You Can Try: Establish a gentle routine Feed → Play → Sleep (even if it's short) Dim lights, reduce noise during sleep time Encourage longer feeds Try to ensure baby feeds well and gets hindmilk Burp well and keep upright for 15–20 mins after feeding Day–night difference Keep daytime bright and active Keep nighttime quiet, dark, and boring (even during feeds) Track sleep cues Yawning, rubbing eyes, looking away — these are signals to start winding down before the baby gets overtired Take help when possible Let your partner, family, or a trusted friend help with feeds (if bottle-feeding) or burping so you can rest Don't hesitate to rest during the day ⚠️ When to consult a pediatrician: If the baby sleeps much less than 10–12 hours a day Is fussy all the time, not gaining weight, or feeding constantly with little satisfaction You're doing a great job — but you need rest too. Let me know your baby's feeding method (breast or formula), and I can suggest more specific tips.
