Q.
My 3.5 year old daughter is coughing and sneezing since past 2 days. No loss in appetite observed yet. Temperature didn't rise above 99.4 F. She's behaving normal. Coughi ng and sneezing still persists. Need suggestions for that.

Cough and Cold needs to be treated only after a proper examination by a doctor after the exact cause is diagnosed.may be infection or allergy.it may not be related to food items but seasonal changes may aggravate the susceptibility to get infected .
maintain good immunity of the child with proper diet and supplements.
if associated with fever too, calpol can be given three times a day..
give steamto relieve blocked nose and nasoclear drops multiple times.
Cough Syrup or nebulization should be given only after a proper evaluation according to the type of cough .self medication may not be so helpful so please consult your doctor once. if the cough is productive you can give brozeet-ls or ambrodil syrup for now only n continue only after doctor's advice.avvoid refrigerated items and give simple home-made preparationkfs a required.child may not be interested in food due to altered sensations of taste bud in illness will gradually begin to eat as symptoms resolve.

POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy3 years agoA. Call your pediatrician if: A dry cough evolves into clicking, bubbling or rattling when your child inhales. Additionally, if your child is having labored breathing, it may be time to call your child's doctor.
