Q.

My 3.5 month old baby has not passed stool since 3 days. Is this normal? Please suggest anything by which she gets relieved

A. It is very normal for small children that sometimes they will not pass stool for 10 days also and sometimes they will pass stool more than 7 to 8 times per day. If the consistency of the stool is Semi solid to semi liquid do not worry about the frequency of the stool. No medicines needs to be given in such a case but you have to meet the doctor only if the stool consistency is hard. It is advisable to gixve only milk to the child and nothing else before completion of 6 months of age. intermittent crying of the child is due to colic pain and not due to constipation.

A. There is no need don’t worry about it as kids can have constipation commonly and they can be about 7 to 10 days also whether they do not pass motion at all but if the child is taking all the feeds properly and the urine output is good then there is no problem with this
