Kannu Priya HandaMom of 2 children1 Year agoA. I understand you completely. my first child was exclusively breast feed and I did a grave mistake that I didn't give her bottle from the beginning. (bottle with Breast Milk). Anyhow, good news is. it isn't too late. have the bottle ready and put her on your breast and then switch to the bottle. Make sure your baby is calm for you to initiate this. If the baby is cranky you will get no where.
The baby will take no milk on the first try, you have to be persistent. If the baby refuses the first time, try the same in the next feed. I understand at 2 months you must be pumping only 30-50ml, so distribute the milk accordingly for tries. as you won't be able to use the same milk again again unless it is within 1.5 hours. The idea is to get them use to the bottle nipple. Another thing you have to be careful of, the temperature of the milk should be same or as close to your own milk.
I am currently feeding my new born with the bottle once a day. and she is almost 4 months old. so keep at it. you will get there. once a day is sufficient to keep them use to the bottle.
benefits of doing so is that you know how much your baby drinks at each feeding, and if you have to go someplace baby doesn't need you.
Try avent Phillips bottle.
I hope this is of some help.
