Q.

My 2 months and 12 days baby had ABO incompatibility jaundice when he was 2 days old and reached severe level in 5 days of his life. After treatment it was cured and reached normal level. But still he is yellow sometimes (eye colour changed to normal after 18 days of his life) though he is active and gaining weight well and exclusively breastfed baby. Will it decrease by it's own or should I visit pediatrician?

A. His eyes were also yellow till 18 days but now skin colour is varying. Sometimes normal and sometimes yellow. After discharge I again visited pediatrician after 6 days and at that time he was yellow but he was gaining weight well ( upto 30 to 50g/day). Yellow is decreasing but not cured completely. Does ABO incompatibility jaundice cures slowly in exclusively breastfed babies?

A. If you see more of yellow and if you see the jaundice levels could be there then yes it is practically right to visit the doctor because this way I cannot confirm on anything but once your doctor is going to examine they will be able to give you proper help on that
