Q.

my 2 month old baby weighs 4.3kg his birth weight was 3 kg he was initially on formula milk and breastfeed as my supply was low but gradually cut down on formula and now since a week exclusively on breastfeed he has around 6-7 wet nappies in 24 hrs and is active when not sleeping. my question: is the wt gain enough? is he getting enough breastfeed ?

A. weight is normal weight gain, Urine frequency 10 times a day minimum. content baby, sleeping well .are all indicative of adequate milk supply or feeding. also more you feed ,more the supply. keep yourself hydrated., Have nutritious diet.

A. Hi...yes weight is good and weight gain should be at least 500 GM's per month in initial 4-5 months. Continue breast feeding two to three hourly and on demand. Maintain proper hygein.

A. Hello...you cannot gain in first month as baby weight will drop then starts gaining....check on baby pee and baby weight...if baby pee is less than 6-8 times or baby gain is not around 600-800 gms per month then it means it is insufficient..you can start formula milk or try Taking Fenugreek and Other Lactation-Promoting Herbs. Many women use herbal galactagogues to increase supply,or lactare tablets too.. drink fluids ,milk eat well green leafy vegetables...Eat Oatmeal. ...Pump More Often or For Longer Periods of Time. ...Power Pump. ...Try Domperidone or Reglan. ..Spinach And Beet Leaves: ...Carrots: ...Fennel Seeds: ...Fenugreek Seeds: ...Bottle Gourd: ...Basil Leaves:helps to increase milk production..
