Q.

My 2 and a half month baby girl feeds for one hour at a time.. is it that the breast milk is not enough? Her weight gain is a little less than expected. What should be done? I demand feed only, she feeds every two hours mostly.

A. Hello dear parent! As long as your baby is active and healthy, accepting feeds, passing adequate urine a minimum of 6 to 8 times in a day, showing no discomfort symptoms then nothing to worry about feeding. Your feeding should be enough. It is said to be ideal if the baby gains a minimum weight of 300 to 400 gms at least in a month. Speak to your doctor for further advice. Good luck and take care.
