Q.

My 16 month baby sometimes scratches the wall and tastes the mud. Is it normal??

A. It is natural for young babies to put everything in their mouth. They will overcome it. But if you notice the child has been doing this for a long time now then it could be a condition called pica- eating non food items. This could be caused by zinc or iron deficiency. Please consult with your doctor.
